The Cost Is Not Great

E-mail Print PDF

God has not called us to a life of ease. He calls us to the cross, to shame and ridicule. He calls us to deny self so that He can be exalted in our lives. Jesus did not die on the cross so that His disciples could blend into the scenery of the world and go unnoticed. The pathway of righteousness has always been the "road less traveled." The cost of serving Him often seems to be more than we are able to bear. In the end, however, not serving Him exacts an even greater cost. The price Jeremiah paid for choosing God's way was far less than the price Judah paid for rebellion and idolatry.
